Spring Retreat: May 5th-6th 2018
Join us Saturday May 5th for an overnight camping and kayaking retreat in West Nashville. We'll camp at Montgomery Bell State Park, kayak along the Harpeth River, go for a sunset hike to the lookout at Narrows of the Harpeth, and go on a morning hike at Hidden Lake.
At Montgomery Bell you can either sleep in your own tent/hammock, or stay in our large group tent. We'll have access to a shower house/restroom and will have electricity and water at our campsite. Fun fact: Earnest Goes to Camp was filmed at Montgomery Bell! We'll settle into camp and have lunch before heading out to kayak. All meals will be catered by Whole Foods Market to allow for plenty of time to relax and hang out.
We'll take a short trip to Tip-A-Canoe where we will begin our kayak trip to Narrows of the Harpeth. Narrows of the Harpeth is home to a small waterfall and 100 yard long tunnel built into solid rock. There is a short but steep half-mile hike up to a lookout point with amazing views of the Harpeth River Valley.
In the morning we'll have breakfast and head out to Hidden Lake: "Hidden Lake is a naturalist’s paradise featuring hiking trails, majestic bluffs, and abundant wildlife. A one mile trail meanders around and through a wildflower meadow. Another trail offers a half-mile hike through the forest and along majestic bluffs to a small lake with a one mile spur trail ascending to the top of a ridge where the remains of an old marble dance floor are all that remain of a 1940's resort."
